Position Overview
We are looking to hire an experienced CERTIFIED FINANCIAL PLANNER™ to manage and refine our proprietary in-house financial planning system. This position ensures the policies, procedures, processes, and measurements for creating and maintaining comprehensive financial plans are effective and efficient. Typical plans include a balance sheet, cash flow analysis, net worth growth strategies, retirement planning, tax planning, insurance analysis, lending options, mortgage strategies, Social Security claiming strategies, and long-term care analysis. As Director of Financial Planning, you are the heart of our most valuable service offering. You will lead and manage the financial planning team, collaborate with financial advisors, and provide comprehensive wealth management solutions to an appreciative and growing client base. Sourcing clients may become an opportunity over time but is not expected of this position or the career track. There are no sales requirements.

Responsibilities
- Manage & refine the Financial Planning Process on an ongoing basis, to include the internal planning process as well as the client experience
- Solve complicated financial planning, insurance, tax, retirement, and estate problems
- Partner with allied professionals: CPAs, estate planning attorneys, insurance professionals, etc.
- Provide technical expertise in the use of the firm’s financial planning and investment management software: eMoney, Advisor Engine (Junxure), PortfolioCenter, and Morningstar
- Research, develop, implement, and document new processes and procedures
- Train, supervise, and manage Financial Advisors on financial plan generation, eMoney technical skills, and client presentation techniques
- Manage the collection, organization, and review of data gathered from clients for financial planning
- Oversee the data entry into financial planning software and the production of accurate financial planning reports suitable for presentation
- Work as a team with FAs to create, update, and present sophisticated recommendations on complex financial planning topics
- Review and approve all client deliverables
- Lead client meetings & financial plan presentations, ensure the quality and integrity of the client financial plan
- Ensure that financial plans are kept current and up to date with ongoing maintenance
- Provide content for and participate in the firm’s call-in radio show on WNIS
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree, preferably with a concentration in a business discipline
- CERTIFIED FINANCIAL PLANNER™ designation
- A minimum 5 years experience in financial planning and client management
- Management or supervisory experience preferred
- Deep knowledge of primary financial planning concepts
- Strong project management skills with the ability to prioritize and track multiple tasks to meet deadlines
- Ability to identify and meet client needs, a naturally curious problem-solver
- Balance between analytical and verbal skills
- Obsessive attention to detail with relentless follow-through
- Ability to write clearly, communicate succinctly, and present professionally
- Must be a self-starter and achievement-oriented team player with a “no job is beneath me” attitude. There are no small jobs here.
Compensation and other benefits
- Salary range: $125,000 – $175,000, including bonus program
